Xarikleia Theodoraki is a researcher in Sciences Education, a teacher and the mother of a child. She is a graduate of the Pedagogical Department of Kindergarten Teachers of the University of Ioannina, where during her studies she was a scholarship holder of the State Scholarship Foundation (IKY). She also has the title Dr. at the same department, in the field of Science Education in early grades, with a doctoral dissertation which was funded by the European program Heraclitus II for three years. At the same time she attended, with a scholarship, teaching techniques in Vygotsky’s laboratory at the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education in Russia in 2012. She worked at the University of Ioannina from 2008 to 2010, organizing and supervising the internship of students in kindergartens . She has organizational experience and has participated in the organizing committee of Panhellenic Conferences and summer schools for the Science Education in early grades, having also taught in European Erasmus IP programs at the University of Ioannina. She is an active member of the research group @FISE group (Activity Theory in Formal and Informal Science Education), which deals with the consolidation of Science Education at both European and global level, as well as several other research organizations, such as European Science Education Research Association (ESERA) and the International Society for Cultural and Activity Research (ISCAR). Her research and teaching works, along with announcements, have been published in distinguished research and scientific journals, books and collective volumes, but have also been presented at European and world conferences. An important element is the knowledge of specialized computer programs, such as SPSS (statistical data analysis program) and NVIVO (qualitative data analysis program), which help to draw valuable conclusions. In addition to her research career, she has been actively involved in formal and informal forms of education and designs educational programs for children aged 4-9 years. She has also been a member of the board of directors of the Hellenic Association of Environmental Education Teachers of Ioannina (PEEKPE), while during the academic year 2017-2018 she joined the collaborating teaching staff of the Hellenic Open University (SEP). In her free time she enjoys reading and enjoys walking by the sea.short cv
